April 23, 2019 was UNESCO’s World Book and Copyright Day. Throughout Germany, bookstores, publishers, libraries, schools and reading enthusiasts celebrated great reading festivals.
We were there, as we are every year. With reading, games and discussions in the cozy rooms of our bookstore.

As Jorg Pfuhl, Chairman of the Board of “Stiftung Lesen”, explains: “Reading is a unique, inspiring experience. We want to instill a love of reading in people – especially those who read little, rarely or not at all. World Book Day is an ideal opportunity to share the fun of reading with others. Thus, the ‘Reading Friends’ campaign is part of an international reading movement that will also be celebrated in the USA and the UK in 2012.”
